The archaeological studies are among the oldest studies conducted on the land of Egypt and in its first universities since 1928. There is no doubt that the study of the effects in dire need of many specialized departments so that the graduates of these sections are the guards on our national heritage and the definition of it. If most of the Egyptian universities so far have each department of the study of archeology, private universities and higher institutes do not have such studies, which increased interest in the University of Egypt for Science and Technology interest in this section of the studies and devoted to him and added to the guidance of tourism and the effects of the Arabian Peninsula and restoration And the preservation of heritage as a complement to those archaeological studies, and the definition - through the graduates of that faculty - including Egypt and the Arabian Peninsula of human heritage and ancient civilization through different ages
The Egyptian University of Science and Technology has decided to contribute with these colleges to the advancement of archaeological and tourism academic studies and thus activate the decision of the President of the Republic No. 245 of 1996 regarding the establishment of this university and its second article which provides for the establishment of an archeology and extension college Tourism. The College aims to cover these important disciplines and to employ archeology and restoration science as an important cultural component of the tourism components and scientific programs offered in Egyptian universities. In this way, the faculty achieves balance in addition to providing the necessary language skills for the student and modern techniques in the field of archaeological studies, museum display methods and preservation of heritage.
Objectives of the College
The Department of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities aims to prepare specialists in the field of Ancient Egyptian Antiquities able to excavate and accompany missions, both Egyptian and foreign, with familiarity with the sciences of Egyptology and its various branches, modern techniques in museum presentation, archeology excavation, use of modern technologies and knowledge of scientific development at the global level in the field of Egyptology.
The Department of Islamic Archeology aims to prepare a specialist of Islamic heritage throughout the Islamic world and can read texts and inscriptions, capable of working in the field of museums and archaeological excavations, as well as a background in the history of art, which qualifies him to advanced studies in one of the previous fields consistent with International standards recognized and required for the graduate in this specialization.
The Department of Archeology of the Arabian Peninsula is interested in the effects of the North, Central and South Arabian Peninsula and the interest of the archaeological sites and the cultural and civilizational heritage of the Arabian Peninsula and the graduation of specialized cadres at the technical and professional level in the field of exploration and studies of the Arabian Peninsula.
While the Department of Restoration and Conservation of Antiquities to prepare a specialist for the restoration of monuments and preservation of heritage and cultural holdings and maintenance of museum collections and warehouses and fossils holdings in accordance with international standards recognized and required for the graduate in this specialty.
The Tourism Guidance Section aims to prepare a tourist guide with a culture that speaks at least one foreign language fluently and has full knowledge of all stages of Egyptian history and cultural heritage areas and has the skill to deal with others throughout Egypt.
