The Netherlands is unfortunately one of the world’s leaders in biodiversity loss. Researchers across Utrecht University are improving the science base for effective protection and recovery of biodiversity. Insight into effective measures is vital: greater biodiversity makes ecosystems more stable and can help mitigate the consequences of climate change.
On International Biodiversity Day Utrecht University organizes a Biodiversity science and impact Festival to connect stakeholders, active on the theme of biodiversity, and UU scientists from different disciplines. This way, there can be cooperation and strengthening of each other on their own way, bending the curve of biodiversity loss.
