Responsible Research and Innovation for Researchers. UOC training course
The Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) framework is gaining momentum across Europe as a strategy to align scientific and technological progress with socially desirable and acceptable ends. However, when turned into daily practice, the RRI concept reports certain difficulties derived from its ambition and ambiguity that hampers its implementation.
To bridge this gap between theory and practice, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) offers the online “Responsible Research & Innovation for Researchers” training course developed by interdisciplinary experts from different universities (UOC, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, University of Bristol) and based on the outcomes of some European projects (PERFORM, HEIRRI, Genport and RRI Tools).
The 3 ECTS course starts on Feb 21, 2018 and will provide you with an introduction to the theory and practice of the RRI framework and practical guidelines to harmonize your whole research and innovation process with and for society. You will analyse your own cases and receive personalized feedback widening your critical reflections on your role as a researcher in society.
Target Audience: PhD students, research professionals or people working at funding agencies, in government or the third sector who want to understand RRI and how to relate to it in their own practice.
