ISIT was founded in 1957 ,within the framework of European construction and the Treaty of Rome. The objective of the Grande école de l'international was to train creators of links to meet the needs of international companies and organizations.

In 2022 ISIT became a component establishment of the Paris-Panthéon-Assas Université.

Sustainable Development

The Institute's commitment since 2018 is to mobilize all of its stakeholders around 17 sustainable development goals determined by 2030 by the United Nations,  historical partner of the Grande Ecole. Each year, a theme stemming from one of these 17 objectives is given pride of place, punctuating the life of students, associations, alumni, teacher-researchers, professional contributors and ISIT staff.

Some of the main commitments of the University are about cross-cutting themes such as disability, diversity and climate. Those three themes have enabled the implementation of various actions on campus through student initiatives.

The cross-cutting theme of the year 2022-2023 is Peace, justice and effective institutions with ISIT being committed to raising awareness among students and the teaching community through various actions: activities, courses, conferences, or even associative events.
