Sustainable Development Goals
Our mission is to transform the problem youth unemployment and under employment into an opportunity for wealth creation and social improvement by helping promising young people start viable businesses backed by microloans, mentors and training in leadership and innovation.
The Boost Fellowship exists to fill that gap by helping young people develop the attributes that will enable them to experience fulfilment in adult life. I our ten years working with young people, we have identified key attributes that contribute to accomplishment, namely balance, organisation, opportunity, sustainability, and tradition (BOOST). By learning how to build these attributes into their lives, young people will become the leaders and innovators Africa needs for a prosperous future.
Our History
The BOOST fellowship has been in operation since 2001 and has established programmes in Universities and colleges, including Africa University, Bindura University, Catholic University in Zimbabwe, Chinhoyi University of Technology, Harare Institute of Technology, Midlands State University, National University of Science and Technology, Solusi University, University of Zimbabwe and Women’s University in Africa.
Our Fellows
To date a total of over 350 students have graduated from the program and we have 450 students who are current BOOST fellows. In the next five years, we plan to reach over 1000 young people in various communities around Zimbabwe.
ENACTUS
Enactus is one the many programmes the BOOST fellowship coordinates in Zimbabwe. Enactus aims to bring together student, academic and business leaders who are committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need.
Guided by academic advisors and business experts, the student leaders of Enactus create and implement community empowerment projects around the globe. The experience not only transforms lives, it helps students develop the kind of talent and perspective that are essential to leadership in an ever-more complicated and challenging world
