Murdoch University has 25,000 students and 2,400 staff from 90 different countries (2023). It first admitted students to the Murdoch campus in 1975 and in 1996 opened a regional campus at Rockingham. Peel campus at Mandurah opened 2005.
Murdoch was the first Australian university to introduce a flexible admissions system, making education more accessible, to the global centre for learning, teaching, research and industry , and acting purpose-driven. The University recently presented the Strategy 2023-2030: Building a Brighter Future, Together (see here). It is guided by three strategic themes: Sustainability, Equity, diversity & inclusion, First nations.
