"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati is a public university located in Galați, Romania. It was founded in 1974.  In more than 70 years of existence, the institution has expanded and modernized, coagulating an academic community focused on achieving performance in teaching and research and thus becoming a European-level university based on both a modern and competitive didactic process – collaborative with students at all levels, on fundamental and applied scientific research, as well as on the excellent relationships it has developed with the local and regional business environment and local community structures. UDJG encourages the development of a research environment focused on technological progress and innovation, competitive both nationally and internationally, able to strengthen this institution into a center of excellence which aims to develop knowledge and technology transfer with direct impact on scientific performance, visibility and quality of the services to the economic and social community. The university also promotes the correct principles of deontology and ethics in scientific research for the training, development and motivation of human resources. The academic activity at the bachelor's, master's, doctorate level is organized within 14 faculties, in the fields of Arts and Humanities, Clinical and Health through the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, which has also an extension in Enna, Italy, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Business and Economics, Law. Crossborder Faculty also operates within an extension in Cahul, Rep. Moldavia.
