Francis Marion University

The Francis Marion University was founded in 1970 and it is a public university near Florence, South Carolina. It is named in honor of American Revolutionary War Brigadier General Francis Marion.

Its purpose is threefold: to provide students with an excellent education, stimulate inquiry and research, and serve the Pee Dee region and the state of South Carolina.
