University West is characterised and distinguished by academic freedom, quality, integrity and honesty. The University’s fundamental values have their origins in the values established for all Swedish government employees.

Sustainable Development

The starting point for the university's sustainability work is Agenda 2030 and the university's role as an active social actor. The university works with sustainable development where the university has its greatest impact, namely education, research and the activities' concrete impact on the environment, equal terms and study and working conditions.

The University's policy for sustainable development formulates overarching goals for sustainable development and the strategy for sustainable development identifies nine objectives. Particularly prioritized areas where the university has long-term sustainability goals are climate adaption and gender equality.
