The Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) was created in 1936 to promote development and equity, to support the country's industrialization process, and to provide educational opportunities for all segments of the population, particularly socially disadvantaged populations.
Mission and Vision
The university aims to be a state educational institution that integrates the training of technicians, professionals, and researchers through relevant programs in various fields of knowledge, conducts scientific and technological research, promotes innovation, and fosters linkages and outreach with the productive and social sectors in order to contribute to the country's technological, economic, political, social, and cultural development.
Its vision is to be a model for technological higher education in Mexico and around the world for the excellence of its training, cutting-edge scientific knowledge generated, innovative solutions to national problems provided, and contributions to the country's transformation in an environment of inclusion, freedom, equity, transparency, and democracy.
Sustainable Development
The Interdisciplinary Center for Research and Studies on Environment and Development is an Academic Unit of the National Polytechnic Institute, which carries out educational processes at the postgraduate level, research, dissemination and services in Environment and Sustainable Development with an interdisciplinary approach, in benefit of society.
It aims to be an Academic and Research unit in the Environment and Sustainable Development of excellence in the National and International sphere and act as an agent of change in scientific and technological activity in environmental matters.
