University of Campinas awarded & University of Balamand finalist at the Campus Challenge 2030

More than 1,300 participants from 87 countries and 97 nationalities took part in the Open Innovation Challenge launched last October to develop solutions for more sustainable and inclusive campuses that put sustainable development goals into practice. 283 projects were received, out of which 60 passed the first and later on six finalist teams were selected. The projects were divided into four categories, student living conditions, campus in the city, new educational issues and digital/digital on campus.

5 of the 6 finalists are members of Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), which is a key partner of IAU.

The Brazilian team from Campinas University won 2nd place. It worked on the "Plasma" project, which proposes to provide students with an eco-responsible, interdisciplinary place. It is created and managed by the students to develop projects in line with the SDGs.

University of Balamand from Lebanon was the second IAU Member in the Final, which worked on the "BIOWAySTE" project related to the treatment and reduction of food solid waste.
